Abstract

Correspondence, screenplays, drafts, clippings, photographs, health records and other personal documents relating to gay screenwriter William J. Capobianco (1947-1992), who co-wrote Tenebrae (date unknown) and Medea (1978). The collection includes other screenplays and short story drafts, as well as correspondence with Joe Callahan and David Sherlock. Photographs document the retail store LA Leathers in Los Angeles.

Lorenzo DeStefano collection on the Hancock Pacific Expeditions

Abstract

A collection of screenplay drafts, research notes, subject files, correspondence, photographs, books, audio and video tapes, and one 16mm film compiled by Lorenzo DeStefano for a film about G. Allan Hancock's expeditions to the Galapagos Islands during 1930s. DeStefano never completed his film, but his research for the project--which began in the 1970s--forms a significant collection of documentation on the people and events involved in the Hancock Expeditions.

Arthur Freed was an American lyricist and producer, best known for his MGM musical productions of such films as "An American in Paris", "Singin' in the Rain", "Meet Me in St. Louis", and "Gigi". This collection comprises primarly film files (produced and unproduced), considered projects, playscripts and screenplays, phonograph albums, and artwork and stills. It also contains personal papers, correspondence and letters, awards, certificates and ephemera, and books and scrapbooks.
